Description
The structure dates back to the XV° century and it has been carefully and lovingly restored using traditional materials and workmanship. Abandoned for several years, today the farmhouse has been reinstated in its role in the surrounding rural territory, offering a very suggestive and peaceful environment. Surrounded by 8 hectares (20 acres) of land, the farm has received full biological certification and produces vegetables, olives, legumes, aromatic herbs, cereal products and typical local fruit cultivated with the organic method.

Il belonged to the last Prince of Presicce.. Then the building became a tobacco manufactory. Now it has been restored but it holds its ancient taste: here you can image to hear countrymen singing and women in their blacxk long traditional skirts dancing the "pizzica".

Casina dei Cari has been created from an ancient residence of the 16th century, the summer house of the Bourbon King Ferdinando IV. The Masseria of the 12 barns is a construction that was fortified in the 18th century. It is situated in the middle of the countryside just outside Minervino di Lecce (a 5 minute walk) 7 kms from the beach and only a 20 minute drive from Otranto.
It was once a big farm lived in by the landed gentry, and it included the living accommodation for the farmers, the stables, the fodder and harvest deposits and a snow field.
